I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
In 2003, Dr. Seuss favourite The Cat in the Hat was made into a movie. Now the children's book has been transformed into a play, which will be performed at the Sydney Opera House from December 29 2012 to January 27 2013.
The play was originally produced by Britain's National Theatre and will feature an all-new Australian cast. As many of us know, the story takes place on what at first seems to be a typical, boring afternoon. But all that changes when The Cat in the Hat turns up, and suddenly Sally and her brother's afternoon is full of wackiness. But what will happen when mum gets home?
The forty minute play is best suited to kids between 3 and 6 years old . Performance times are listed here. Standard tickets cost $39.00 (additional booking fees apply). Early sessions are already selling out, so don't wait too long to book your spot.
Other children's plays and musicals currently scheduled to take place at the Sydney Opera House during the school holidays include Charlie and Lola's Extremely New Play, which will run in December, and ImaginOcean (a glow-in-the-dark musical over from the US), which will run in January, among many other great shows. The full Kids in the House program can be explored here.
