Catch of the day
Having lunch with water views just to ease your weekend or your day off. Sounding good? If you nodded your head answering yes, then you can have that right here at the Captain Grill's Restaurant. Let the picture speak for itself.

St George Motor Boat Club located at Sans Souci

This club is situated in the gorgeous position right by the water of Sans Souci. Home to the locals where all their boats have their resting place on the wharf.

The Captains Grill Restaurant

As you approach the restaurant, you ponder what makes this restaurant a talk of the town. You then reach the entrance to be greeted and taken to your seat by one of their very friendly staff. You are escorted to a vacant table and then understand what makes this restaurant so popular. Just take a look at the breathtaking view of the water that is right outside your window. Your restaurant seat is also a great place to watch the comings and goings of the sailors bringing in their yachts and motor boats as the sun sets on the river.

The restaurant is known for the quality seafood but they also offer non-seafood dishes such as prime rump steak for all you red meat eaters. If there is one thing they have built their reputation on, it is the seafood platter. It comes in two forms, a hot platter or a cold platter for those wishing to get connected with the real taste of the sea. They are seriously delicious and very filling so you won't have to worry about what to cook for dinner. These platters are enough to feed three people even though the menu says it is a platter for two. However, if you are hungry but not hungry enough to have a platter to share, then you also have the option of their grilled fish & chips. This is just as filling but minus the guilt of having leftovers that you are unable to finish.

Other dishes they also offer out of their large range of selections are burgers. They are very tasty and juicy burgers filled with succulent meat, fresh tomato, lettuce & the restaurant's own sauce that will activate your saliva glands. You may initially think that there is not much on the plate or that this is one of those restaurants that do not fill you up when you order a meal. However, do not let your eyes deceive you as this will change once you dig in. You will be sorry you thought otherwise. The restaurant has a set menu but it also has specials at various times during the week and the weekend so it's ideal to take a look at them.

Now the captain of this ship would not have completed his job without their mouthwatering choices of dessert. Offering a great selection of heart melting gelato which is boasting with real flavour. But if you are not feeling like a cool dessert, they also have banana bread and awesome cinnamon waffle with vanilla gelato just to name a few of their teasers. I know, it is a cruel tease so I will stop it at that.

Christmas pudding and vanilla and salted caramel flavours

To top this experience off, if you happen to be lucky enough to be there at the right time of the year, you will be able to enjoy one of their many popular events they run such as their speedboat show. This is an event they run once a year and it is a thrill to watch the boats and feel the effect of the adrenaline that the show leaves you with. See you next time for a great catch.
