This year, we have seen some huge changes at the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House - and I mean literally huge.
Kids from the region have been flocking like mad to see Coffs Harbour's newest residents - dinosaurs!

Gerald the Dinosaur Saying Hi to the Locals
New owners, Dr Verne Dove and Troy Saville, seem to be on a mission to make the Butterfly House a fun and totally one-of-a-kind attraction.
There are now heaps on offer, including:
Butterflies (up close and personal)
Spiders and insects (not so close, thankfully)
Three dinosaurs (two babies and one adult)
A macaw
A fairy garden
A life-size maze to explore
A gift shop filled with lovely things
A café with delicious homemade foods and good coffee
A lovely grassy outdoor area to enjoy the sunshine
If you're keen to catch the dinosaurs in action, the babies come in and out with their keeper throughout the day, and the big dinosaur practises his training at 12pm daily*. It's a chance to meet and greet a dinosaur up close. The dinosaur shows are still new and changing, so call ahead and double check their latest program to avoid disappointment.
The best time of year to visit is a sunny day in Autumn or Winter (so it's not too hot in the sun, and because the dinosaurs can't be out in the rain.)

Fun for the Kids
The Butterfly House is open Tuesday to Sundays during school terms, from 9am to 4pm, and daily during school holidays.
It's a great way to spend the morning out with kids. As locals, we can't wait to see what's coming next!
