This anticipated concert event follows the success of The Bureaucrats' recent album launch event at the Astor Lounge and will feature the full live band.
The Bureaucrats may have been conceived from the 1980s and early 90s Australian post-punk scene - The Birthday Party and The Bad Seeds, The Triffids, The Go-Betweens, Ed Kuepper, The Gadflys - but today the band features professional musicians from all walks of life who bring elements of funk, garage rock, pop, folk and chamber music to the mix to create a unique and eclectic sound.
Genre-wise, the band probably sits somewhere between alt-folk and alt-rock.
Joining The Bureaucrats will be Fremantle luminaries The Midfield Legends, straight from a sell-out show at the Hidden Treasures Festival last month. The band features members from some of Perth's seminal bands of the 80's and 90's including The Triffids, The Stems and The Holly Rollers, No Flowers No Wedding Dress, as well as current Fremantle musicians Kevin Smith (Seven Story Jumpers) and Adrian Hoffmann (The Morning Night) and Steve Gibson (Kill Devil Hills). The set list consists classic covers and obscure favorites as well as original songs.
Supporting both bands on the night will be Watch with Mother, a feisty duo straight from the depths of the latter-20th century United Kingdom, playing a mix of covers and alt-folk-inspired originals.
Doors open from 8pm and entry is $10.
