The Breslin Gallery Community Day

Home > Melbourne > Art | Community Events | Food and Wine | Fun for Children | Music

Help re-build The Breslin Gallery just by relaxing and having a great day out. On Saturday 4 June 2011 from Noon to 5pm, Australian and Internationally renowned artist Anthony Breslin will be hosting a community benefit street party. Funds raised on the day will assist with reconstructing areas of the Gallery, which were attacked by an arsonist in January this year.

Come and be part of the afternoon; there's a little something for everyone. Musicians, artists and celebrities will entertain the crowds amongst stalls offering delicious food and wares from local traders.

Enter in the chance to take home unique artwork, retail vouchers, wine and more in the silent and main auctions held over the day.

Children can climb to new heights on the rock climbing wall or join in the fun on the jumping castle; amongst other activities especially for them. Event goers can also connect with their local community members and services including mayor Margaret Esakoff, emergency services and the R.S.L and Rotary Clubs

Additionally, the benefit will give people a chance to have a peep at the much needed community arts hub for South East Melbourne being developed here. The Breslin Gallery once completed will be a welcome space for everyone, with it housing an art gallery, cafe, artist studios and community gardens, and will be a home for community events, classes, fundraisers, and the arts in general.
