Situated in the picturesque valley of the Southern Highlands, the Bradman Museum is quite a popular tourist attraction for many Australians.

If you are an avid cricket fan, you may relish in the vast amounts of memorabilia that are stored within this museum such as the cricket uniforms that the legend Sir Donald Bradman has worn himself, game balls and manuscripts recounting the scores of his games.

When you walk through the museum, it is certainly shocking to see how much space is within the museum. Displays are suitably spaced in a way that allow the displays to be appreciated on their own without being cluttered

You do not even have to be a cricket fan to appreciate the experience. There is certainly many things to see inside the museum such as the wax figurines that are placed around the museum for visitors to take wacky photos with or interactive games for children to be entertained with.

Walking through the museum, you will be surrounded by giant television screens, which are the size of movie screens, showing old cricket games and commentary. Smaller television screens placed around the museum provide interesting facts about how the game has been developed. Interactive programs even allow the visitor to pick and choose the information that they themselves want to see.

The museum itself is located next to the cricket ground that Sir Donald Bradman used to play in as a child. Friendly games are played on the field regularly between visitors to allow visitors to experience what has shaped one of the best cricketers in cricket history.

If this isn't enough activity for you, you can explore the local country town of Bowral, whether it be walking past the vast array of flowerbeds positioned outside the large estates of its residents, viewing the historical buildings of the town itself, or enjoying great food and shopping in the town centre which is a short ten minute walk from the museum.

A truly rewarding experience though is the journey down to Bowral which can only be vilified by a train ride through the green pastures and farms of the local area. It may be a two hour journey but it is certainly worth it as the journey itself is quite inspiring as you encounter friendly locals on the train and see nothing but lush, green countryside outside the train window.

If you want a getaway that will truly enlighten you, a trip to the Bradman Museum will certainly deliver.
