Awarding-winning costume designer Marion Boyce, in conjunction with Queensland University of Technology, has developed The Bowerbird and The Bird exhibition which will be on display at Old Government House from 12 July to 19 August, 2018.
Marion Boyce is best known for her work on the television series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and The Dressmaker movie.
More than 40 bridal gowns from 1860 to 1970 will be on display and the exhibition will be more than a history lesson on Australian wedding fashion.
Having been fascinated with collecting garments since childhood Marion has a vast collection of fashion, accessories and other curiosities, which have been purchased from places around the world or donated by family, friends and fans.

Throughout The Bowerbird and The Bird exhibition you'll be able to attend some unique events which include an 'In Conversation' event with Marion Boyce, a Wedding Garden Party and Behind the Seams tours with the exhibition team and an industry expert.
