Meander through the forest of books
The Book Tree bookshop, 456 Ruthven Street, in the city heart.
Meander around a forest of books on natural wooden shelves, beginning with the Young Adult and Junior Fiction sections at the front of The Book Tree bookshop. Owner Ann Hewitt will give you a warm welcome and prompt service. With the store being open for only three months, Ann's vision is realized with the children's books in a prominent position at the front of the store rather than hidden in a back corner.
Unlike others, this independent, old-style store features Australiana and rural books published by Boolarong Press. There have already been two book signings on site and more are planned. One title 'Captain Starlight' about bushranger Henry Readford, will celebrate its launch on 21 August 2015. This book would be a great gift idea for the upcoming Father's Day. Another would be 'Blindsided - a rugby great confronts his greatest challenge' by Michael Lynagh, another book which enjoyed a signing recently.
This independent bookshop is the only store to offer these treasures from Boolarong Press.
Ann's passion for books is evident in the lovingly presented books, as well as additional products such as soaps, cards, tasteful gift items and 'paperblanks' notebooks which are not sold elsewhere in Toowoomba. Ann also writes monthly book reviews for the Coffee Gazette, Toowoomba's free coffee table publication.
Soaps, coffee mugs, cards, tasteful gift items and 'paperblanks'.
Additional to the usual choices of books such as Classics, New Releases and Fiction, central to the room is housed the top ten best sellers. The Diary of a Young Girl, Anne Frank, was recently among these gems, celebrating its 60th anniversary. The type of events within its covers seem to be beginning again in this present day.
A forest of books to wander through including the Top Ten best sellers.
A dainty bookmark with the store's details will be provided with your purchase. Some of the classics are selling for under $7 at present, so it's the perfect time to add to your collection. In the heart of the city, why not enjoy a relaxing browse in this charming store and receive a warm welcome?
