If you're looking for somewhere different to have a quiet coffee while escaping the madness of Westfield Garden City, then look no further than The Book Cafe. With its chilled out friendly interior and bohemian quirky feel, it's a great place to dine in happy solitude or meet friends.
Conveniently situated on the upper level, The Book Cafe is a book lovers paradise.
Packed with new and recycled books there is something here to keep most people happy. Although the range isn't as big as you'll find in your franchise bookshops, presumably due to space restrictions, the variety of topics is very satisfying.
But the best part of this bookshop is the cafe. Sip a latte or enjoy some morning tea in the peaceful surrounds of thousands of books. You are not permitted to read the new books while indulging in your coffee pleasure, but you can read the second hand books. Reasonably priced, there is a lot of them and they're a great read.
Do you have difficulty dining alone, so grab a takeaway coffee or tea and drink on the run while shopping? Well stress no further. What better way to spend half an hour than enjoying a coffee and reading a book? You'll find that most of them are so good that you won't walk away empty handed. I got into a couple of books over a latte and ended up buying both of them.
The dining menu consists of open grill, gourmet and toasted sandwiches, as well as light mains such as pizza, muffins and salads. The usual array of sweet cakes and slices are also available.
The Book Shop caters for gluten free needs and soy lovers.
The staff here are very friendly and it makes for an enjoyable way to pass a half hour or so.
