For bookworms who still appreciate the smell and feel of a real book, here's a gem for you.
The Book Bin, tucked away in Kelowna's charming South Pandosy neighbourhood, is a tiny oasis where you can browse, buy, or trade paperbacks until your bookshelf is full, and your heart is content. No more than a couple hundred square feet, The Book Bin is filled floor-to-ceiling with books of all genres, including popular fiction, biographies, classics, self-help, adventure, and a generous kid/teen section.
The owner of this local treasure runs the shop herself, and can be found behind her well-loved wooden desk almost every day of the year. She's more than willing to help you find a title or author - or recommend a few if you're unsure - and always seems to know exactly which books are on her shelves, which is incredible considering the sheer volume of titles littering the walls, tables, and floor.
If you're looking to pawn a few of your own books to make room on your shelves, The Book Bin also accepts books for trade in exchange for a store credit. Unfortunately, they are not keen on accepting hardcover books, but accept most other paperbacks.
