The Boîte has been celebrating Australia's cultural diversity since 1979. They do this through many festivals, events, radio programs, music releases, and publications that promote hundreds of musos, artists, dancers, writers and storytellers. The beating heart of the Boîte is The Boîte World Music Cafe.
Presenting regular high quality acoustic concerts in intimate venues in Fitzroy, Box Hill and Eltham to name a few, these concerts are stamped with the hallmark of cultural diversity. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime at all events listed below. Online sales close 3pm on a Friday. Tickets are also available at the door where only cash payment will be accepted. Box office opens at 7.30pm, at which time tea, coffee and snacks will be available. Some venues have art and craft exhibitions and wine available. Check details when booking tickets online.

This is an exciting, fiery sextet who specialise in modern and traditional tango from Argentina. With a sprinkle of contemporary Australian Tango originals, Juan Manuel Veron de Astrada plays Latin romance inspired by working with 5 women, each born on Valentine's Day.

This is directed by Bronwyn Calcutt who has a stellar reputation for intricate arrangements, great sound and eclectic choices. Come along and enjoy new and older favourites with songs by Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, Hozier, Sting, Tim Minchin, The Cure, Pink Floyd and Leonard Cohen.
Sangeet Mishra, Vinod Prasanna & Aman Kalyan, Tabla
Learning his art at the renowned Sarangi Gharana school of Banaras, Sangeet Mishra, an accomplished singer, plays the ancient stringed sarangi. Vinod the Bansuri (flute) player also comes from a long lineage of music and is fluent in many styles.
A composer and freelance musician, Allison is inspired by the contemporary classical music scene in New York. She'll present a program of new work that explores the divide and intimacy between classical and pop.

Three Melbourne players (Juan Martinez - guitar, Antonio Mazziotta - bass, Peter Vadiveloo - percussion) will take you on a mesmerising journey with their fiery contemporary flamenco that rides through the rhythms and passion of Southern Spain.
A guitarist and songwriter with great guitar technique, Justin and the Chocolate Lillies Choir led by Nerida Kirov (who was given recognition by Nillumbik on Australia Day this year), will be back at the venue where she was first established.
