Visiting a truly extraordinary country for the first time, it felt right to stop by one of the most iconic places that bring a lot of character to this place that we all know as Jamaica.

is located in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. It is quite an interesting and spectacular place that has become a favourite among locals and tourists alike. Formerly the home to one of the most legendary reggae music icons, the Bob Marley Museum provides its visitors with an in-depth tour of all the elements that made his life colorful and inspiring.

A Jamaican Heritage site for all the right reasons, we were enthralled at how beautiful and nature-filled this space was. The museum is well-maintained and comprises of a number of friendly staff members, who are all there to make sure your visit is enjoyable and worthwhile. There are murals of Bob Marley's family, lyrics of his songs, and photographs from his concerts that are painted across the walls around the Museum.

The tour guides are very knowledgable and provided us with a detailed background regarding Bob Marley's involvement in the music industry. There are a number of music awards, collectables and memorabilia that are displayed throughout the Museum. We were also treated to walking inside the recording studio, where the original equipment is perfectly preserved and contains photographs of Bob Marley rehearsing and recording his songs that we all know as major hits today!

There are a number of bedrooms on the top floor of Bob Marley's house, where everything has been kept in original condition for authentic aesthetics. From the bedroom to the kitchen to the balcony, the music of Bob Marley playing in the background almost makes you feel like he's on tour with you!

One thing I really loved about this tour was the abundance of green and lush spots, where trees with fruits flourish and provide for an overall cooling atmosphere, even in humid Kingston weather! There are a lot of open spaces, which make the walks through this grand location a relaxing one.

Whether you're a huge fan of Bob Marley or really dig his music, you won't be disappointed and a part of you will feel the sadness upon hearing of the story of his passing. There's the "bullet room", where Bob Marley's attempted assassination took place and that story really tug at the heart strings. I felt like I had found new inspiration by learning about his life, his journey from being a man of Jamaica to the man of Jamaica.

While you may feel that $2500 (Jamaican) might be a steep rate, it is actually so worth it! You're treated to some charming tour guides who will not fail to make your walk through one of the most popular places in Jamaica a thoroughly exciting experience, in addition to gaining VIP access to the home of one of the best musicians in history! If you ever find yourself visiting (or thinking of traveling to) this beautiful country, make sure you don't catch a plane back home without stopping by the Bob Marley Museum!
