Buddy Up and Get On The Water
As the winter weather warms up my thoughts went straight to water activities. Wanting something to do on the water that does not involve plummeting core body temperature to below 10 degrees, The Lane Cove National Park Boat Shed came to mind immediately.
The Lane Cove National Park has many things to offer for people who love the outdoors; a sealed track for cycling and running, children's playgrounds, historical sites to explore and for the perfect family day out picnic areas, some with shelters but all with seating and wood fire BBQ. The Park is also a great place to stop and stay overnight if you want to tackle the 250km Great Northern walk. For more information about the Lane Cove National Park visit the website here.
Spending a few hours on the Lane Cove River, steering around ducks on the water and enjoying the beautiful views is a wonderful way of spending an afternoon. The Boat Shed is open on weekends and during summer school holidays, it is not free but worth the adventure fee. Prices depend on the type of boat and length of hire but start at $30. Visit their website for further information on pricing and open times.
