Twisted Vaudeville Circus is presenting a special Boylesque edition of its popular Birdcage showcase at Fringe World 2016.
This spectacular show will offer an explosion of male sensuality explored through the many styles of Boylesque, including comedy, vaudeville and circus.
Audiences will be invited to admire the male form in all its strength and grace while seeing Perth's brightest local boylesque talent featured alongside the boylesque world's top international stars.
Australia's 'Mr. Boylesque 2014' Charlie D.Barkle will be performing his world-class triple-threat talents alongside 'King of Boylesque 2012' Burlesque Hall of Fame's Russell Bruner.
"I love working with the local talent – it's like a family. I love when we all perform together, we can be as creative and expressive as we want to be. Then working with the international talent makes us work even harder, inspires us, keeps us on our toes, drives us to keep improving, and to kinda show them up" said Trash Valentine, 'Perth's Las Vegas show-boy'.
"Audiences can expect the unexpected. If you thought you knew what burlesque was, and had an idea about what boylesque was, you were wrong … it's better than you ever thought it could be!
Joining Charlie D.Barkle, Russell Bruner and Trash Valentine will be sensational local and interstate artists in the fields of acrobatics and fire performance, and the cherry on the cake, Lou Henry Hoover – a 'faux-boy' with talent up the wahoo.
"It's not something you see everyday, it's not something you see on TV or in movies, it's something you can only get in a live show, in one of our shows – there are very few shows in the world that do what we do." Trash explains. "'If you fear bedazzled male genitalia stay at home, everyone else is welcome!'"
The Birdcage: Boylesque Edition will play for a strictly limited season at The Empyrean Function centre's Metcalfe Playhouse on Jan 29th-30th, Feb 5th-6th, 12th-13th, 19th-20th-21st at 9.45pm.
