Lunchtime is going to feel a little brighter and a lot warmer for some. In fact, July 25th will feel more like the weekend than a working day if you're lucky enough to have a boss who understands the multiple benefits of singing.
Community Music Victoria wants to invite you to 'Sing out the Winter Blues in your Workplace' on Thursday 25th July, making the world a little warmer and a little less grey.
For the past 19 years Community Music Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation has been supporting community singing, including the 'Victoria Sings' program since 2001, and a growing network of over 600 singing leaders.
Event coordinator Michelle Morgan said The Big Workplace Sing is a wonderful opportunity for people to get together for the purpose of singing together, regardless of age, gender, race or musical experience.
Multiple scientific studies show that community singing is not only beneficial for health and wellbeing, but that it is a great team building activity where the collective experience is more important than the sum of its parts. Rather than thriving on the competitive nature of some team building activities, community singing is a gentler option that has a cohesive effect.
