Anyone who lives in or has visited Adelaide surely has been to the Central Markets that are located in the heart of the Central Business District (CBD). The hustle-and-bustle nature of the Markets imbibe in its customers a sense of being, a taste of different cultures, and a family feel.

Thus, it makes sense to find a number of extremely dedicated cafes and eateries that aim to provide fresh, delicious, and wholesome foods that are nothing less than top quality.

While strolling through the busy little precinct, I happened to stumble upon a very little but inviting stall that has aptly been called The Big Table, in conjunction with a slab that is presented on either side of the stall, accompanied with bar stools for people to be seated on.

It appeared that the stall was been managed by a team of ~15 staff members, all of whom are constantly shuttling between stations, working extremely hard, and presenting their customers with excellent, delicious meals that are perfect to quench their breakfast cravings. It was also refreshing to see the owner of the stall making the conscientious effort to greet every single customer with a fantastic smile, a bonding rapport and a great service overall.

has been native to the Adelaide Central Market for the past 15 years. They are well-known for their baguettes, wholemeal and flat bread rolls, along with their highly attractive pricing for their services.

There is a wave of customers that quickly fill up the vacant seats at The Big Table by around 10.30am, which is why I was happy to be there early to trial their menu.

The menu here is succinct, but provides a fantastic balance between the traditional forms of breakfast options - toast, eggs (scrambled, poached, fried, boiled), muesli, coffee and tea. I think this place offers a variety of options, given the size of the team who run this stall, and it is refreshing to see that they are able to make their dishes stand out with their eloquent presentation.

I ordered two dishes - one traditional, one alternative - and was delighted to see that their portion sizing was very generous and perfect for the price that was asked for them.

The Bircher Muesli is a very wholesome $10 breakfast dish that comes with walnuts, cinnamon, raisin, yoghurt, honey and extra milk (as needed). This dish was super healthy, and the eccentric mixture of these different ingredients made me feel like a burst of energy was rushing through me. It was absolutely delicious, and perfect for one serving!

The next dish was the scrambled eggs with feta and baby spinach. This meal was very hearty, and the eggs were cooked to my liking in a grand way. The freshness from this dish was emanating so strongly, I could taste it and it tasted fantastic.

Next time you are planning a catch up with a friend who you have not seen in a long time, or you and your significant other are looking for a different take on dates, or you simply feel lazy and do not want to cook your own meal, be assured that will take care of you with their exceptional customer service and top quality meals.
