A hearty breakfast good your heart
Gather around The Big Table for warm and friendly service along with great healthy food and amazing coffee. Established in 1994, The Big Table has become an iconic part of Adelaide Central Market.

Offering an array of breakfast meals, including vegetarian and vegan options, there's something for everyone.

Breakfast, morning, salmon, toast, poached egg
Eggs with smoked salmon

I really enjoyed the eggs and smoked salmon with fat toast. The egg yolks were runny, which added moistness to the dish. The toast was toasted just right and loaded with butter. You can't go wrong with egg and toast with smoked salmon.

Vegan, vegetarian, quinoa, avocado, egg, salad
Green Bowl of quinoa, avocado and poached egg topped with seeds and nuts

For a vegetarian option, I recommend the Green Bowl. It literally is a superfood bowl of quinoa, kale and spinach, combined with a poached egg, caramelised onions, avocado and seeds and nuts. Containing healthy fats and lots of protein, I couldn't finish it. You could go vegan without the egg if you prefer.

Breakfast, waffles, icecream, chocolate, nutella
Housemade waffles with Nutella and icecream

What's a breakfast menu without waffles!? These are a must try for Nutella fans. Those perfectly warm and crisp waffles were drowning in Nutella, paired with vanilla ice cream. It was just the right combination of warm and cold, crunchy and gooey and not overly sweet.

Available from the menu are also the regular Big Brekkie and BLT, to light meals including yoghurt with fresh fruit and nuts.

You can also purchase healthy rolls made fresh daily, or even personalise your own rolls to exactly how you like it. At the end of each day, any leftover rolls are donated to charity and don't go to waste.

Coffee, piccolo, barrista
Piccolo coffee

I've had coffee here a few times and it's one of the best in town. Warm and strong, it hits the right spot to get your day going.

The Foreigners, The Big Table
The Foreigners were here

Have a seat at The Big Table, who knows, you might be sitting in the same stool as The Foreigners. It's a great spot to enjoy the buzz of the Central Market with good food.
