You may think if you have seen one animal farm, then you have seen them all. Let me assure you, this is most definitely not the case with The Big Goose in Moorooduc. Yes, it is a farm. Yes, it does have animals. But it is so much more.

We, undoubtedly, chose the best time to visit: the start of spring on a Friday morning, not during school holidays. We basically had the whole farm to ourselves, it was glorious. There were so many baby animals of every variety. We saw goslings, calves, baby goats and sheep - everywhere we turned there were more babies.

Not only could we look, but we could touch. In small cubicles as well as large paddocks, you are able to hold and feed these gorgeous, sometimes cheeky, little creatures.

Inside, the kids got to cuddle bunnies, guinea pigs, goslings, baby goats and blue tongue lizards.

As we strolled out to the farm we saw a gaggle of geese waddling along freely, making quite the racket. We passed by brightly coloured birds, humongous pigs, cows that chase you, beautiful horses, sleepy kangaroos and so many more animals.

The kids excitement peaked when they viewed the massive bouncy pillow; off their shoes came, and in a flash they were off.

Once we could drag them away, we got to ride on the the farm truck. With the kids legs dangling off the side, we took off on a 10 minute drive around the farm. From our prime position we got to view the beauty of this place, as well us have up-close encounters with all of the animals.

It was then on to the magnificent, multi-level playground. This was fun for all ages, having a smaller sandpit area for the young ones, and more adventurous offerings for older kids. We literally had to drag the kids away.

This really is such an amazing place, the whole family will love it. The staff are so kind and welcoming and really go out of their way to make it a special experience for everyone. We will definitely be going back.
