The Community Precinct of The Big Freeze Festival is open from 8.45am to 5.30pm and entry to this area inside the tent is free. Unaffected by Melbourne's unpredictable weather, don't miss one of the two FREE daily appearances by Charlie Sillipants and the Invisible Snowball. Shows commence at 11.45am and again at 1.30pm. Please note: Space for each show is strictly limited so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Alongside the main stage in the Community Precinct will be a tempting array of food vendors. There's no doubt snow play makes you hungry. Enjoy lunch or something sweet for afternoon tea as part of your visit.
The Big Freeze festival is a real snow play activity centre. Therefore, the temperature inside the big top is freezing. Snow is icy and wet, so layered, preferably waterproof clothing, is highly recommended as is a change of clothes for afterwards. Organisers suggest gumboots as the most appropriate choice of footwear.
A family room will provide a changing and feeding area and the festival itself is generally 'wheel friendly,' accommodating wheelchairs and prams to most but not all activity areas. Pram parking will be available beside the snow pit.
In Fountain Gate during the first week of the school holidays - from the 1st of July to 9th July 2017 - The Big Freeze Festival Big Top tent will be located on the grassed area at 352 Princes Highway, Narre Warren, across from Lillipop's Play Centre and Toys'R'Us. You'll find the entrance and box on Brechin Drive, Fountain Gate, with ample free parking in the Fountain Gate Shopping Centre.
