Got a major assignment due? Meant to be writing a thank you letter to you Grandma? Last exam tomorrow? There are dozens of things that suddenly leave us with the urge to clean our room, bake cookies, pointlessly surf the internet. In short, do anything at all that will distract us from the task at hand.
As the devil on your shoulder, I hereby present you with - the internet's very best procrastination sites. I guarantee that any of these will keep you distracted for hours.
Reddit may not look fancy, but what it lacks in sophistication it makes up for in oodles of content. The massive Reddit community post links to anything and everything that interests them. Everyone else can then comment and / or vote submissions 'up' or 'down'. The result is an endlessly changing mish mash of content and discussion, on everything from the major topics of politics and religion, through to pure toilet-humour hilarity. Whether you want to join up and become a full member of the community, or you just want to mindlessly click, this is an awesome site.
This aptly named site is a collection images and videos, gathered from across the internet. Content ranges from thought provoking / inspiring, to cutesy, to hilarious, to bizarre.
It's particularly dangerous to procrastination-prone individuals because it works on the principle of sporadic reward. New content is added at random intervals throughout the day, thereby encouraging us to constantly 'check in' - just to see if there's been an update.
Another aptly named site, this time full of flash games and animations. And when I say 'full', I really do mean 'full'. There are hundreds upon hundreds of games, from puzzles and quizzes, to action and shoot-em-ups, to strategy. There's even a whole category just for 'stick man' games.
