Have a non-alcoholic cocktail

Drinking is very much a social activity, so when you invite friends round to your house, go out for dinner, or clubbing at a party, it is usually expected for alcohol to be served. But like me, not everyone drinks, and we can sometimes feel left out.

If you're hosting a party for friends, and one of them doesn't drink, they might feel like their being treated like a child if all you have to offer is orange squash. And if all you have is water, it doesn't quite inspire a party mood.

But you don't necessarily need alcohol to have a good time. There are plenty of fun party drinks to have that won't get you tipsy. For example, f it is a cocktail night, have a virgin pina colada, or
you can swap Pimms for punch, and no one will notice the difference.

Cappuccino, the mallard
Have a cappuccino instead of a liqueur coffee

Coffee liqueurs are popular after a meal, but instead of a tia maria, you can always have a frothy cappuccino.

rochester, rum and raisin
Rochester's Non-Alcoholic Rum & Raisin

I recently discovered Rochester the Original Drinks & Food Company. They do brilliant soft drinks for adults, such as mulled berry punch, dark ginger, grape vine, and rum & raisin. Despite the name, rum & raisin actually has a taste of caramelised apple. I would describe it as Mary Poppins medicine. While everyone else is on the spirits, take a swig of this, and it will warm you right up.

What non-alcoholic beverages would you recommend? Are there any particular brands that make extra special drinks?
