There are a probably a little too many flight aggregators in the market today. The likes of Zuji, Expedia, Kayak and Agoda are most definitely the top of the lot, but I have found most of their services pretty similar and it is hard to pick one over the other.

However when I was introduced to, it was a whole new way of searching for travel deals. The first thing that strikes me about Adioso is that you can actually plan your travel without knowing where you want to go or when you want to go. Hmm, does that sound strange?

Well, it probably is not that strange once you have used Adioso. Adioso has a smart search engine that lets you be flexible with your dates and destination.

For example try typing 'Melbourne to anywhere' in the search box. Yes, anywhere does exist. The resulting page is a list of destinations and the cheapest price available.

Try fine tuning your search to now say, 'Melbourne to Anywhere in March 2013' and aloha here are the best flight deals for March. Click on the destination of your choice and let it expand to a bar chart of all the days in March and the best travel deals for each day.

What I have found most useful with this website is that the friendly search lets me plan my holiday based on my budget. If you are not fussed about the destination and are flexible with the travel date then let Adioso find you the best deal. Another popular way to search is by sharing your length of trip and allowing Adioso search engine to provide the best options. For example try, 'Sydney to Melbourne in January returning in two days'. This will provide all the options for a return flight for the period of time specified.

Setup alerts for multiple destinations to find what is the best deal available in a particular timeframe. With all these flexi-search options adioso has slowly become my favourite flight aggregator.

Adioso was launched in 2010 and has slowly expanded and added many more destinations to it's radar.

To keep an eye out for the best travel deals, like their Facebook page and know what the latest travel deals are.

If you know another way to find cheap flights, we'd love to hear them. Leave your tips in the comments.

Skyscanner - like Adioso but a lot better for regions outside of Australia and SEAsia.

Also Zuji has always been better than Expedia for me as Zuji has no extra fees.

Just had a quick look and its not anywhere near as cheap as what i can find. It appears that it doesn't compare every single airline in the world which is what i was hoping but its handy to plan a trip and gives you a guide as to how much you're saving compared to your budget airlines.

Hi All - Adioso is an Australian company and they have focussed on this region initially. But I think they are slowly expanding
