Hike Mount Royal
There's nothing like seeing the leaves change from above. Hike the tree-lined Mount Royal to see what the best of Canadian fall has to offer. Once you arrive, the reward is breathtaking. Panoramic cityscapes abound and for an extra special show, stay until sundown to see the city lights sparkle.

Hunt for pumpkins
For the ultimate fall activity - and Insta-worthy pics - get out of the city and prep for Halloween by picking a pumpkin. Quinn Farm, Verger Labonté and Les Citrouillards are just some of the many pumpkin patches that surround the city. Some even offer apple and local, seasonal vegetable picking.

Browse your local market
Don't just snap photos of autumn, eat the rainbow as well! With plenty of pumpkins to decorate your home (if a road trip to one of the pumpkin patches above isn't on the agenda) to the freshest produce, both Atwater and Jean-Talon Markets are the best spots to grab a seasonal bite and some fall goodies.

Stroll through the city
From European-inspired Old Montreal, where fall colours contrast cobblestone streets, to the charming Plateau Mont-Royal, where verdant parks and cozy cafes dot the area, Montreal is an open-air museum for fall walks. And for even more fun, opt for a bike ride through several boroughs or hop on the Old Port's Ferris Wheel for the best 360-degree views of the changing seasons.

Admire the Lantern Festival
And finally, as night falls, grab your friends, plus one, or family and head to the Botanical Gardens to see the lanterns light up. This year's Gardens of Light sees hundreds of silk Chinese lanterns blaze the park's illuminated path with jaw-dropping scenes. It promises a fun time for all.
