There are a few subtle differences between the best and the not so great 10 pin bowling alleys in Melbourne City. It does make all the difference between a spectacular time and an all good okay time; even if you are going out with two different groups of people let alone your best buddies and even if your score is still around 60 something.

The best place would have to be Strike at the QV because of the fantastic lanes, great facilities and customer service; especially for the ease of booking quality lanes during peak periods. The games seem to be smooth sailing, and have never had to approach the staff with any challenges on the bowling alley, so it keeps things quick and fun in preparing for a great dinner at nearby Chinatown afterwards.

However, on the other hand the service at nearby Rockstar Bowling at Melbourne Central was completely different. We had cheesy greasy pizzas; to the point where the grease was dripping down my hands, although the wedges were fantastic. It could have been a case of bad luck; lane one kept having technical challenges where the pins would get stuck, and sometimes the ten pin ball would be stuck somewhere in the gutter. I think the equipment is a bit old, not as modern and fresh as it is at nearby Strike. The customer service was a-okay, although Strike was the winner clearly again, and no pun intended either.
