I have an opinion on everything, and I like to write about it. Music, Booze and Food Reviews, to keep your weekend rocking.

Size is not everything, especially when it comes to the BWB (Behemoth Wagyu Burger).

Walk in, and step up to Richie's Bistro.

Good old pub grub certainly has come along way since the 70s and 80s. Many a pub seem to strive for a four-star restaurant rating then being a typical over the counter type lunch these days. But the classics of food have always played a sentimental part in Australia culture, and the trusty old hamburger has never been kicked off the menu.

Burger, hamburger, BWB, Wagyu Burger, Penrith, Best Burger.
BWB (Behemoth Wagyu Burger).

Even as I am writing this review, I have just started thinking of how good, nay, a culinary delight, the BWB is to eat.

Far from being a hamburger from the local 1986 take away shop, this beast has character; the look, smell, feel, and finally the taste. Explosions of it. The two seasoned Waghu beef patties melting between two slices of cheddar cheese, crispy lettuce, sliced fresh onion and tomato, and then topped off generously with Liesl's special sauce that seems to capture the essence of this burger. A new sense is created, the BWB.

Tasty chips accompany this burger, and I also recommend that you try their pepper sauce with the chips. This extravaganza of a meal is very fulling and it is only $13.00. ($15.00 with the pepper sauce). A nice vintage Tooheys New (so a cold Tooheys Old) will accompany this meal wonderfully.

I asked head cook Liesl, "What was the inspiration behind the making of this glorious burger?" Her response nearly brought a tear to my eye.

"It came to me one morning after a big night out. One ale became two, two became ten, then the shots started. Anyway, I woke up craving a Big Mac, and I thought, hey, I am a cook, I'll create my version'. The BWB was born."

Richie's Bistro Menu has something for every palate and I have tried a fair amount of it. The meals served are always flavoursome, in abundance, and are reasonably priced.

The BWB is worth every calorie. If I have to do 400 hours of treadmill to make up for eating this once a week, then, press the button, I'll start walking.

See you there.
