Whole albums dedicated to beard appreciation - yes, please
If you have never feasted your ears on the melodies that The Beards have blessed the public with for the past 10 years, then you're in for a treat!
Born and bred in South Australia in our little town of Adelaide, the members of The Beards have released a number of albums and a whole lot of songs dedicated to their appreciation of one of man's most glorious features - the good ol' beard.
Starting off in their home base, The Beards have taken over the world and started a beard revolution! They have toured all around the world - UK, Germany, Sweden - and have created a safe space for those with beards to revel in the majesty of their facial hair through catchy tunes. Most of their songs fall under the category of comedy folk genre.
The Beards may have toured the world but they have also made appearances at local Australian music festivals such as Falls Festival and Big Day Out. Additionally, they were also featured on Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown in 2011. Honestly, it's no surprise that the beard has become a part and parcel of many men's lives nowadays. Let's be honest - it makes you look presentable (provided you take care of it, trim it *not shave it*, and caress it with the love from beard oil). The Beards may have been a band that I only recently became acquainted with, but I can't help but admit that they have been playing non-stop on my iPod for the past couple of months now. Their songs are like a conversation with such soothing and entertaining tunes, which you can't help but shake your booty to.
Don't be fooled - there's 4 of them (one's hiding behind the drums)
The Beards have dedicated the year of 2016 to be their final year of touring and have set up a farewell tour across Australia, so that bearded babes (and women and children) can enjoy their passion for beards one last time. With a seriously adorable sense of bromance, musical talent that crosses miles, and a thoroughly charming and entertaining performance style, these guys are bound to sell out very soon for their tours!
The Beards consist of band members Johann Beardraven, Nathaniel Beard, Facey McStubblington and John Beardman Jr. (even their names are beardy and glorious!), along with the bearded keytar! Seriously, you need to check it out - it is one hell of a beast that is clearly the star of the show! If you are deciding to go to any of their shows, make sure you park yourselves relatively close to the stage - you may even get a bearded hug from one of the band members themselves!
The Beards smashing it at Houghtonfest (SA)
After having attended Houghtonfest, there are two more shows to go in Adelaide - one in May, and the final one in October. While both shows are nearly sold out, keep an eye out on their Facebook page and make sure you grab some tickets while they're still available here!
A glimpse of the bromance you will see at their shows!
