Visit the Popular Quirky Beach Shak
There's a quirky little place at Beachmere that is attracting visitors from not only the local area but also from afar.
The Beach Shak started in a small shop, has now spilled out along the footpath under the awning, and into another shop too – so there is plenty of room for the many locals and visitors that have discovered the great tea, coffee and food. There is quirky décor – and strange animal characters sit among the tables and chairs.
The Beach Shak
The new room is delightfully decorated by local artist Debbie Hunter who also makes the cheese boards and wall hangings that are on sale. There are also other locally made craft items for sale.
The room is also available for meetings or classes, birthday parties or special events. First Aid classes are also held there.
The Beach Shak is open Monday and Tuesday 7 am to 2 pm, Wednesdays 7 am to 3 pm, Thursday and Friday 7 am to 4 pm, and Saturday and Sundays 7 am to 3 pm.

It is at 1/5 Biggs Ave, Beachmere so head down Beachmere Road and through the roundabout as if heading to the beach and turn right at Biggs Ave and you can't miss it. It is opposite a great children's park too – so the kids can head over to try the amazing equipment in the park when they have had their fill of food and drink. There are also plenty of toys in the children's corner inside the shop too.
There's parking close by and public toilets in the park.

Thanks for the great article Di. I've just spent a few days in Beachmere and made the Beach Shak my 'go to' place for coffee and breakfast each morning. What an amazing place! The service and food were excellent. The staff were even calling me a 'local' after the third visit. I'm definitely going back there whenever I have 'Nana Duty' in that part of the world.
