Last weekend my family and I went for an Easter Break at Woodgate (one hour north of Bundaberg). With our 'mixed bag' of family, there were 11 people in total. From a ten month old baby, a 15 year old teenager, girlfriends, young adults to grandparents. We rented a cool little house on the Esplanade called the 'Beach Shack' for $350 dollars and enjoyed all the mod cons, only having to supply sheets and pillow cases.
Early Saturday morning found my daughter and I out riding the rolling waves of a full tide on our surf boards. You may laugh but we have the photos to prove it. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the full moon tides.

Woodgate has a long beach front with golden sands sprinkled with shells, a beach combers dream. Being on the Esplanade, it was only a short walk from our shack across the road to the beach.
In the evening the young adults dug a fire pit and sat around the fire under the moon with the gentle lapping of the water. We played board games, fished, went for walks, threw the cast net out for bait, built sandcastles and threw the footy around.
My husband, not that keen on the ocean, watched the Masters on TV and just enjoyed the peace and quiet of not having to do anything and lay around reading.
We had fish and chips on Good Friday and walked down for lunch at the local Bowls club on Saturday. Sunday we went to the local community hall for a Mass Service and Monday enjoyed the Easter Markets.
Everyone enjoyed themselves
