Situated on the ground level of the prestigious hotel, The Westin Sydney, The Bar, Lounge and Room offers a relaxed yet open atmosphere beneath the glass atrium of the GPO making it the perfect place for a meal with class.
A light-fare lunch menu is available and is served into the evening as well as various selections of refreshing teas by the pot and delectable snacks and sweets which are all part of the delicious Afternoon Tea menu.
I was first drawn to this place after having looked at the high tea menu on The Westin Sydney's website and decided that I just HAD to try the Westin's Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea Menu which consists of a high tea stand for two and bottomless cups of espresso coffees and jing teas. What more could you ask for!
The Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea consists of three savoury delights... Tweedledee & Tweedledum; roasted beef and fresh asparagus roulade on mini laugen Caterpillar; cherry bocconcini & tomato on fresh green salad boat Alice in Wonderland; Alaskan crabmeats salad on double bread
as well as a mouth-watering selection of sweets...
The Mad Hatters Hat; rich dark chocolate mud cake encased in chocolate icing White Rabbit's Pocket Watch; purple macaroon with a blueberry cream filling The Queen of Hearts; layers of raspberry buttercream, chocolate ganache and raspberry Jelly
If you don't think that will fill you up, think again! The richness of the cakes and the quality of the savoury delights sure makes for a satisfying meal that will without a doubt fill you up. And don't forget the unlimited tea and coffee you can order!
So for those who were thinking about going for high tea, I would definitely suggest giving the Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea a try because it is definitely value for money! The Westin Sydney also offers the Heritage Afternoon Tea which also consists of premium sweet and savoury delights that will leaving you asking for more. Though I would say that the Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea is certainly more pleasing to the eye!
