Typical Gemini, with the concentration span of a gnat & not one for sitting still. My old Da used to say that "you're a long time dead". So my mantra is get busy living. Please join me for more at brizzymaysbooksandbruschettasite.wordpress.com
Event:
Your Chance To Play Better Homes & Gardens
Are you looking to try something new? Have you a creative streak that has been laying dormant? Are you ready to view the world with a different perspective?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions you need to start upcycling. Upcycling? Yes, the creative reuse of waste products, useless or unwanted products, and transforming them into a new product of a better quality. Think of all those wooden builders pallets that we have seen transformed into sun beds and plant boxes in glossy magazines over recent months. That most certainly is a prime example of upcycling:- reusing building site materials that would normally be destined for the rubbish dump and turning them into something useful, practical and often very beautiful.

On Saturday, 18th March, you can attend a practical workshop where you will learn to look at weeds and common household items with a new perspective to create garden art with a functional twist.

Your garden is an expression of your personality, so not only does upcycling sound like a fantastic new skill to develop, it is also a great way to beautify your garden space utilising junk that may normally end up as landfill. That's a win for personal satisfaction, and also a win for the environment.

This workshop will be delivered at the Indigiscapes Centre, 17 Runnymede Rd, Capalaba, from 10am to 12:30pm, as an initiative of the Redland City Council.

All materials are provided, though bookings are essential by close of business 8th March, 2017.

For more information or to RSVP contact 07 3824 8611 or indigiscapes@redland.qld.gov.au.

I've just downsized from acreage to a pocket-sized garden. However, a girl always needs to make her mark on her own garden and I do have a penchant for wind chimes. Surely there is scope for upcycling in this area?

If you haven't visited Indigiscapes before allow an extra hour for a walk around the gardens, and perhaps an additional hour to spend at the cafe that juts out over the parklands. You will be most pleasantly surprised.

On site parking is available.
