There will be no dancing or singing at Space2b's Refugee week celebrations, but instead you will be rewarded with knowledge and faith. is an honest and inspiring panel discussion with five resilient creatives who have overcome amazing odds to become the people they are today.Farhad Bandesh - A Kurdish musician, artist, winemaker who walked out of Melbourne Transit Accommodation after 8 years in detention.Shabboo Shariati - Facing loneliness and isolation, Shabboo sought creativity to help to regain belief in herself.Amir Tehrani - Arriving in Australia four years ago gave Amir the opportunity to re-start painting. His goal is to inspire people to look more carefully at the world.Anudeepa Kadiresan - After settling in Australia, Anudeepa started missing her culture and traditions. She started to connect to her roots through painting.Anahita Diba - Self-taught artist who started with pen and paper whilst in detention. She progressed to oils and watercolours.Tasneem Chopra (OAM) is hosting '' at Shiawase Hall, St Kilda Primary School, 2B Brighton Rd, St Kilda (entry via Dickens street) on Wednesday 15 June 2022. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Limited seating available. Tickets $20-$30 include Syrian nibbles from Flavours of Syria.
