A selection of works by controversial street artist, Banksy, will be on show in Brisbane as part of a touring exhibition from 3 May until 8 July 2023.

Having already been exhibited in cities including Melbourne, Amsterdam, Istanbul and Tel Aviv, exhibition will feature 150 Banksy artworks in Brisbane.

Who is Banksy?
Banksy is an illusive UK "guerilla" graffiti artist, who is known for his public murals and whose identity is unknown. With pieces often featuring social and political messages, the controversial artist sometimes includes objects that already exist on his chosen 'canvas,' such as street signs and fire hydrants, to turn his work into striking street art installations.

His first public works appeared in Bristol and he then moved to London in 1999.

Seven of his murals recently appeared on war-damaged walls in Borodyanka during an unpublicised visit to Ukraine amid the conflict. One of his most well-known pieces is titled "Balloon Girl", which was sold for $22 million at a Sotheby's auction in London, only to be self-destroyed with an unknown and built-in shredding mechanism right after it was sold.

What will the exhibition be like?**

The Exhibition will be held on the lower ground floor at Queens Plaza in Queen Street (below David Jones) in the heart of the Brisbane Central Business District and open from Mondays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
