I had never seen a freshwater stingray until I visited the Amazon Basin Asian Tapas Bar in Glenelg. This remarkable restaurant is very popular, and you will need to book a table for weekend Yum Cha. It is a great place to bring the family.

Yum Cha, wine and whisky are the specialities, and owner Huy Truang and his friendly staff will guide you through the ample menu.

I especially enjoyed the Asian greens and the radish cake and gyoza. The Yum Cha are fresh and tasty, and well prepared. There is a wide variety of dumplings and also samosas for a change of pace. There is also a range of main course menu items and platters if that better suits you and your guests.

The wine list is impressive and locally sourced. Prices for food and wine are very reasonable.

Kid's just love to watch the fish parade around the aquarium. The fish are fully grown and include exotic Amazonian species such as Catfish, Fan Tails and Peacock Bass.

The aquarium runs almost the full length of the restaurant, so every table has an excellent view. Glenelg hosts here an unusual but good restaurant creating a unique dining atmosphere which takes you by surprise.
