Event:
Everyone has a story, waiting to be told
You are invited to join author Meyi Cuellar in the launch of her new book, The Alien's Embrace, at the Charles Latrobe Theatre, Royal Melbourne Hospital.

In her previous book, My Alien and I, Cuellar tells the story of how she was diagnosed with a rare disease that rendered her unable to walk, and her subsequent struggles to overcome its effects on her. Now, as the sequel to that story, Cuellar opens up about her journey towards achieving an "almost normal life".

This is an honest, personal tale, filled with the author's courage and acceptance of her new life. Cuellar tells her story simply, but with great weight. Her focus on the positive nature of human beings, and the dignity with which she accepts her situation, moves readers to both laughter and contemplation in turns.

The book launch will begin from 5.30pm to 7pm, and will feature performances by the Sing Australia choir, and melodies by accordion-player Dave Evans. Refreshments will be served after the proceedings.
