The local pub that found itself on the Silk Road with a menu the size of the Indonesian archipelago
This is the pub to go to when you are 'not much of a pub girl'. I will admit to my dislike of pubs in general. I'm vegetarian and a 'pot and parma' day holds no attraction. I was only lured to The Alberton by my lovely nieces and their association with the owners, who by the way, are humble in their ability to secure the services of brilliant chefs and kitchen staff.
The menu board is one of the most extensive I have seen with incredible prices.
The menu stopped me in my tracks on my way to the counter as I wondered whether I would have chips or a salad. The menu was the size of the Indonesian archipelago and listed specialties such as ikan balad, pad Thai noodles, tandoori chicken salad, along with not your not so usual pub offerings such as vegetarian samosas and naan. When I realised The Alberton was boasting a tandoori oven I was starting to wonder if I was in Adelaide or an exotic trade route crossing point.
Vegetables and salad are available buffet style to go with your meal.
The Alberton looks like any pub from the outside so I will urge you not to drive past thinking you will find somewhere better. This is a fully family dining experience yet they have somehow managed to retain their usual clientele and haven't sold out to the exorbitant prices of upmarket venues.
Their web site has all the information you could need including a downloadable menu to ensure everyone in your group will be happy.
