One of the most popular children's books is back in Brisbane - as a stage play. Following sell-out seasons of The 13-Storey Treehouse and at QPAC, is returning, this time at QUT Gardens Theatre. And best of all, it's just in time for the mid-year school holidays.

The team behind The 13-, 26- and 52-Storey Treehouses, "Live on Stage" are returning with the biggest, brightest blockbuster in the series. Adapted for the stage by Richard Tulloch, the play, and the book tells the story of friends Terry and Andy who live in an amazing treehouse. Not just any tree house as this one is now 78 storeys tall.

Andy and Terry's treehouse keeps on growing - by 13 storeys each year. With more levels taking it up to 78, it's now got a "Scribbletorium", a high-security potato-chip storage facility (guarded by an angry duck) and even an open-air cinema. Now the two friends are going to be famous as Mr Big Shot has arrived to make a Hollywood blockbuster. But his first step is to fire Andy and replace him with a gibbon named Mel Gibbon (haha). Will the Treehouse Blockbuster ever get made?

The show is great fun. The comedy that recommended for kids aged 6 years and over and their families. It's not necessary to have read the book first, but if the kids have (and you) you'll know you are in for a funny and amazing time. And don't forget to watch out for those cows.

Andy Griffiths
Andy is Australia's most popular children's author. He has written over 20 books, been on best-seller lists and is a multi-award winner. His most well-known and loved books are the Just! series. My favourite of his books is The Day My Bum Went Psycho (which has the best kids' book title ever). He is also an ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and the Pyjama Foundation. He wrote the 13-Storey Treehouse in 2011 and has been adding storeys and stories every year since and is now up to the 104-Storet Treehouse. His long-term collaborator and friend is Terry Denton who has illustrated all the Treehouse books. Hence friends Andy and Terry.
