Eagerly awaiting the much talked about performance from the headline act The 60 Four, we were introduced to The Honey-Bees! Definitely a singing force to be reckoned with. These three young ladies, impressively ranging in ages from 15 to 18, ripped up the stage singing classics such as 'Baby Love', 'Be my Baby' and 'Say a Little Prayer'. Their infectious enthusiasm and harmonious vocals transported you back to a time when soda pop, full skirts and the jukebox ruled.

Their perfect harmonies complimented their cheeky personas in a number of tribute songs, a highlight being Erin's amazing solo rendition of Nina Simone's 'Feeling Good'. Their grand finale was the infectious 'Dancing in the Street' which perfectly warmed up the crowd before the interval and the anticipated performance of The 60 Four. Watch out for these girls; they definitely earned R-E-S-P-E-C-T with their performance tonight.

During the interval, it was fantastic to see the mix of people chatting and mingling, all here to see what the boys from The 60 Four would bring. And did they start with bang! Wow, their first number, 'Cherry', was a fantastic start as their voices were perfectly in tune and on point.

Then they moved smoothly to the Beach Boys with one of my personal favourites, 'Good Vibrations' and definitely did it justice; the involuntary tapping of my feet was a testament to this. Their opening set proved that they really enjoy performing these songs and their voices not only complement each other but also the style of music they were performing.

Their interactions with the crowd were polished and comfortable; with dad jokes and personal introductions of band members making them extremely likeable, honestly, there really was no choice but to feel part of this slick performance. Singing songs from such luminaries as The Beatles, Roy Orbison and the like would make any performer nervous, but not these guys, they sang and moved through each song with confidence, cheeky animation and the right amount of cockiness.

The haunting acoustic performance of 'Sounds of Silence' was a brilliant fitting tribute to the genius of Simon & Garfunkel and Dion and DiMucci's Run-around Sue was the perfect end to the first set. The crowd seemed satisfied; they were however, left eagerly anticipating what was to come.....

After the interval, the choreography and enthusiasm was picked up a notch as they confidently breezed through songs such as 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Calendar Girl' and 'She's My Baby'. Then the lads decided that it was time for a costume change and BANG! more energy with professionalism beyond their years. Next up was 'Shout' and the crowd lifted again, which I honestly didn't think wasn't possible but the evidence was clear, empty seats all around as the crowd was up dancing and grooving.

'Twist and Shout' was to be their last song but the crowd wasn't interested in letting them go. The energy in the room gave the impression of a much larger venue and crowd, with the boys delivering a flawless final song complete with another costume change.

All Adelaidians should be proud to call the talented The 60 Four their own and someone please call Human Nature in Vegas and let them know that the lads are ready to move into Cesar's Palace. So, slick back the hair, grab a soda pop and make sure you catch the Honey Bees and The 60 Four wherever they next perform, notably at next year's Adelaide Fringe. It will be a night worth remembering.
Oh, what a night! [Yes, pun intended]
