Sculptors Queensland are hosting their annual competition and exhibition, entitled 'The 3rd Dimension' this May, and to celebrate, all are invited to attend a free gala event on Friday, 24th May, 2013.
This special event will be held at Mt. Coot-tha Botanical Gardens and Auditorium and will consist of the announcement of the prestigious Shillam Prize, which is judged by the internationally acclaimed sculptor, Vlase Nikoleskie, as well as the recipients of the Perides Outdoor Highly Commended Award, Chalkos Highly Commended Indoor Sculpture Award, the Judy Hamilton Student Award and the Atelier's Student Award.
In addition to having the opportunity to view the exhibition, guests can also enjoy live music performances and wine and cheese tastings throughout the evening.
The exhibition will then be open to the public over the weekend of Saturday, 25th May and Sunday, 26th May, 2013 in the Auditorium from 10am to 5pm and there will be a range of free activities accompanying the exhibition; these include artist talks, demonstrations and a garden walk.
This popular annual event is family friendly and all are welcome to attend. It is a great way to support local artists and celebrate their achievements.
