Sydney Film Festival
The second screening of the Sydney Film Festival at Casula Powerhouse will take place on Friday 6th March, with a screening of That Sugar Film. Treat yourself to a boutique film experience, with the option of a pre-dinner movie, in this unique venue in south western Sydney.
Whether you are happily consuming 40 teaspoons of sugar per day like most of us, or if you are trying to quit the sweet addiction, you can learn about the effects of a high sugar diet on the human body in That Sugar Film.
After living sugar-free for three years, actor and director Damon Garneau decided to document the changes in his body when he returned to a diet of perceived 'healthy' foods, foods that are in fact laden with hidden sugars, like low fat yoghurt, muesli bars, juices and cereals.
The result is That Sugar Film which is billed as one man's journey to discover the truth about sugar. The film also features guest cameos from Hugh Jackman, Stephen Fry, Isabel Lucas and Brenton Thwaites and may change forever the way you think about 'healthy' food.
The Sydney Film Festival at Casula Powerhouse will be held once a month until 6th November 2015. Screenings are great value at only $15 dollars per adult. For those who wish to make a night of it there is also a pre-movie dinner option for an extra $17 dollars. Catering will be provided by the Bellbird Café. Tickets can be purchased through the Casula Powerhouse website.
