Located in Mount Gravatt East, an easy 20 minute drive from Brisbane City, That Little Place Cafe may be 'little' in size, but 'big' in quality. Hidden in the backstreets on the southside, its quiet location makes way for a relaxing ambience - coupled with both friendly and fast service, it's the perfect place to enjoy a meal with good company.
Their business card doubles as a loyalty card - buy 9 coffees and get one free.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, with both options having smaller tables and larger tables depending on the size of the group you are with. For those with little ones, there is a wide array of children's books available for perusal to keep them engaged and occupied, so that you can spend more time here - trust me, you'll want to! There are also newspapers and magazines available for those old enough to read, in addition to brochures on upcoming local events. For those with furry little ones like me, dogs are more than welcome to come along with patrons who opt for outdoor seating, with a (pink) communal water bowl provided.
Breakfast, in addition to being the most important meal of the day, is also the favourite meal of the day for many people - it's mine for sure. Because of this, I tend to gravitate towards cafes that have all day breakfast menus, like That Little Place has - it allows people to sleep in on the weekends without missing out on breakfast. They've got a wide selection of food options to choose from, including my favourite Big Breakfast with a funny twist - That Little Place calls it 'That Little Breakfast' instead! That Little Place also has a wide selection of drink items to choose from, including "fancy" milkshakes (e.g. Mars Bars, Cherry Ripe, Nutella).
I, of course, had to choose 'That Little Breakfast', which consists of free range eggs, smokey bacon, grilled tomato, avocado, and toasted organic sourdough with Roza's gourmet tomato chutney. I requested to have my eggs fried with only the whites, due to allergies to egg yolk - That Little Place did not hesitate to meet my request, which is not something that all cafes do as it takes extra time to prepare. Thanks again for meeting my special dietary requirements! My friend opted for the waffles with vanilla ice cream, maple syrup, and strawberries.
Both meals were delicious, Eddy did well to not steal a bite.
It is worth noting that That Little Place Cafe is open till late on Friday and Saturday evenings - with the relaxing ambience mentioned earlier due to its quiet location, it's an ideal place to kick back, let your hair down, and just have a drink (or two) after a long week of work. Their bar menu can be found on their website. On Saturday afternoons, That Little Place is host to great local artists who will play tunes for you while you have a drink and/or sample a bar snack from their extensive range, including a cheese and meat board - how fancy!
My friend and I (and Eddy of course) had such a great morning at That Little Place Cafe - we loved how friendly both staff and other patrons were, and really enjoyed having a chat with lots of you. As for Eddy, Eddy enjoyed all the pats and attention that he got here! Thank you to Lisa and all other staff at That Little Place Cafe for having us - we'll be back!
