While many may think that Thai food has passed its use by date now that new food trends have come - it's always good to have a good Thai place to fall back on.

I went to Sunday dinner @Thailand at Bankstown. It's always a great atmosphere and lot's of families come and enjoy some great Thai food.

The restaurant is large and inviting. It's near the train station (basically diagonally opposite it between the TAB and Chemist Warehouse) and near a free council car park (the one opposite Bankstown Sports Club) so getting here is easy.

The menu is varied and there are plenty of choices of traditional dishes as well as chef's suggestions. The meals are easy to order and can be varied to meet dietary needs.

Sunday's order was:

Gang Dang (Red Curry)
With bamboo shoot, eggplant in coconut milk.

Gai Yang
Grilled chicken fillet skin on served with sweet chilli sauce in Thai style.

Cashew Nut
With mixed vegetables in a tasty sauce.

Pad Se-Eiw
Stir fried flat rice noodle with Chinese broccoli, and black soy sauce Thai style

Pad Thai
Stir fried noodle Thai style.

I admit that I always order the Pad Thai here. The serving size is good and the service is quick. What was really nice was seeing the owners talk to the customers and ask how their meals were and even offered free apple juice to a toddler.

Next time you are around Bankstown, check out @Thailand.
