Spring roll and curry puffs taste better than they look
Without doubt this was the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Every course was delicious and I could have eaten more of it. The Thai Thani Restaurant is in an ideal location near the corner of Brunswick and Johnson St, Fitzroy. It has an upbeat feel and the band playing outside entranced my son.
We tried to get into the city early to find a close park. We were there a bit after 6pm but the street was already bustling. Parking at Coles just around the corner was only $6 for 2 hrs, cheaper if you shop at Coles.
We were lucky because we had bought a voucher for a six course meal on Cudo. This included Tohm Yum soup, two choices of entrée, a salad, two main courses and Jasmine rice for $50.

I can never go past Pad Thai
The Tohm Yum soup was hot and spicy. The chili was floating on the top of the coconut milk. I could have had another serve if it wasn't for all the other courses to follow.
I would say that nothing was preprepared. The spring rolls were tight and flavorsome. It was all fresh and crispy when it should be and soft when it should be. The curry puffs were to die for. Once again I thought I could have just ordered them. I love a curry puff, these looked great and were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle - just perfect. The dumplings were exquisite.

We ordered Pad Thai as one of our mains. I think you have to at a Thai restaurant. Again it was the best ever. They had lots of fresh ingredients and fried nuts.
The curry was a little on the hot side for me but the others really enjoyed it. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. The heat of the curry didn't stop me from having several serves.

The chilli on top is a warning!
For just $5 each you could upgrade the banquet and have a dessert. We chose the homemade coconut ice cream and the sticky pudding filled with hot banana. I don't think I have ever had these before. It was very sweet and tasty.

Sweet presentation and taste
I've said nothing of the service or the atmosphere, not because there was any problem at all with those, it's just that the food was so good.
