Fast and Fabulous
Yummy Roti with satay sauce to start
It's hard to find somewhere open on a Monday night, so we were lucky to stumble upon Thai Sontaya and were greeted with a big genuine Thai smile.
There are a number of Thai restaurants in our area but this one got the best online reviews for authentic Thai food, best value, generous servings and friendly service. We can confirm all of those fabulous features.
The restaurant is decorated as you would expect at the Thai restaurant. They have a fairly steady take away service.
A boutique restaurant
For six of us we chose five main dishes and they were all great. Everyone enjoyed the pad Thai noodles. It's a pretty safe bet. For my fussy eater the barbecue chicken was well received.
The green Thai curry was the perfect heat for me. It had just a bit of a kick.

I really like the unusual crispy chicken mango sauce. To my surprise the most popular dish was the vegetable and tofu dish.

My son had arranged a birthday cake. For a joke he had bought two candles and asked that they put them on as 25. They clearly recognised this was an error and put them in the reverse order but I just realised I shouldn't be offended.

With the cake, the owner bought me a glass of champagne. He made a little speech wishing me well. I thought it was lovely but I'm not so sure the kids thought the same. It created a bit of a dilemma though because I didn't want to be rude by leaving it untouched but I also don't drink alcohol. I had five children volunteering to help out!
Plenty of BBQ chicken left over for lunch the next day
This really was a bargain. For five main dishes, rice, roti & drinks the bill was only $118 and we bought home three containers of take away.
They also have restaurants in Plenty Rd Bundoora and Plenty Rd Whittlesea.
