Get Spicey in the Sun
Having lived close to Broadbeach for the last year I have rarely gone down Albert Avenue, sticking mostly to the mall and the Surf Parade cafes and restaurants, however cutting through recently I noticed a group of restaurants that looked classy, stylish and reasonably priced offering Thai, Italian, Latin and Aussie food.
The first I wanted to try was Thai Silom, which I thought looked just wonderful - we opted to sit inside, which I totally recommend you do, purely because it feels more authentic and has a lovely feel and atmosphere to it.
I found it to be tastefully decorated, beautifully lit and set out really well, all this together with the friendly staff give you a feel of being transported to Thailand.
The decor inside is really great with larger tables having traditional seating where you have to climb over a platform to sit down - something to note if you are a miniskirt fan, it is very difficult to look graceful getting in and out.
The food was incredible, I really loved the presentation and the service was good too - you are not rushed at all, which sometimes you can feel like you are, they have a huge selection of small and large dishes depending on taste and budget. The food was fresh and light and cooked really well, it didn't feel too heavy, especially in the Gold Coast heat and I loved all the fresh vegetables used in the dishes.
