1) Red Spice Road

Red Spice Road, 27 McKillop Street, is not only a fabulous place for after work drinks enjoyed in the courtyard or bar, but serves up a flavoursome treat of unique Thai dishes.

Separated into 7 unique seating areas - the lantern room, long room, 3 lotus rooms, courtyard, and bar - this high-end venue is perfect for taking business associates, friends or that special date.

Shared dinner mains (for 2-3 people) range from $29- $39, or take advantage of the early bird dinner special from 5-6pm Monday to Friday where the weekly lunch banquet menu is on offer for $25 per person. This is a great option for dinner before heading out to the theatre or to a nearby bar. Your party gets an entree and three selections of mains, to share.

Extremely accommodating to all types of dietary requirements, provided they are notified at least 24hr in advance. Recommended to book in advance.

Lemongrass,176 Lygon St Carlton, offers a beautiful and spacious environment decorated with colourful cushions and beautiful traditional Thai statues.

Mains priced from $19-$37, and a specials all day street menu ($15 mains; until sold out), Lemongrass is ideal for any occasion whether it be a large group celebration or an intimate dinner for two.

With freshly prepared dishes, friendly wait staff, a late closing kitchen, and not a typical Thai restaurant menu, this place will have you returning.

I used to live no far from Thalia thai on lygon st and used to bump into to people that had travelled as far as doncaster and St kilda to pick up a take away. For peopel to travel that far for a take away it has to be the best Thai in melbourne. AS for their satay well there is nothing that compares to it.

Ying Thai 2 on lygon st is the best in Melbourne. Went to lemongrass, the food was the worst I have had ever, tasted rotten. Lanna Thai is ok, tastes watered down whenever I have it.

Thalia Thai is located at:
82 Lygon Street, Brunswick East
I recommend the red curry duck or the green curry chicken. If you like lots of fresh vegetables in your takeaway then it's definately one to try.

Thai taste on Johnston St (I think number 85 between Wellington and Hoddle) serves up amazing traditional Thai. Definately one of my favorites. Easy Tiger on Smith street. New and a bit pricy but modern Thai and definately worth trying. Very very good. Highly recommended.
