Situated on Ipswich Road in Annerley, Thai Kanjana is one of the Southside's better kept secrets. The owners, Anne and her husband have gained a local reputation for producing some of the most authentic Thai food around, with hungry customers coming from all sides of Brisbane to enjoy the food.



The family owned Thai restaurant draws on influences from the north of Thailand, producing exquisite flavours while maintaining an affordable menu.

Some of the specialties are original recipes that the couple have brought from their own north Thai village. Delights such as the Tamarind Crispy Beef and the Chiang Mai Curry incorporate the savoury elements of northern cooking, which brings out the rich textures of the meat. Served with fresh, stir fried veggies, these two meals would have to be ones to try. However if these two don't take your fancy, the Thai Kanjana offers a wide range of vegetable dishes, as well as seafood and rich soups.

The ambiance of the place is on the whole relaxing and a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. The silk sheets lining the ceiling, mixed with the background noise from the koi pond create an atmosphere that is great for good food and good conversation.

With regard to price, all the main meals are under $20, which is phenomenal based on the quality of the food. Entrees start from $7.20, so you can easily enjoy a meal for under $35.

In 2007 the restaurant was awarded the Queensland Business Achievers award for Fine Dining and has only grown since then.
