Thai food has become very popular in the last decade and as with other foods, there is both good and bad!
I have eaten at this food fair twice now and each time I have enjoyed it immensely. On my first visit, there were a lot of people and a few stalls had already sold out of the popular dishes. My advice is to get there early, but they now cook more as they know how popular their dishes are! The food is from various areas in Thailand, as are the people cooking it.
They are all genuine Thai dishes cooked by Thai people and you can eat at the fair or takeaway. Either way, everything I've tasted was delicious. A good variety of food was on offer, from fresh meals, soups, and Thai desserts to prepackaged food.
Come along to experience Thai food cooked to perfection. Make it your 'family lunch day'. For 2018, the Thai Food Fair (TFF) will be held at two different locations; during the summer months, they are running it at the Birdwood Square (Opposite the Brisbane Hotel) which is situated on the Corner of Beaufort Street and Bulwer Street in Perth.
In the winter months, it will be held at the South Perth Community Hall in South Perth. The Thai Language Centre of Perth is proud to present the Thai Food Fair at Asia House on the 2nd Sunday of every month starting from February, 2018.
The Thai Food Fair is Perth's original Thai Street Food Eatery, bringing you the tastiest street food from every part of Thailand. If you like Thai food, this is the place to be for Sunday lunch, catching up with family and friends over yummy Thai food, at the most reasonable prices in town. Thai dance performances will also be performed, and this will create an atmosphere as if you were on holiday in Thailand! So, bring your entire family along to enjoy the best Thai Street Food in Perth.
You can enjoy a day of live entertainment, delicious food and fun themed activities! This is a free entry family-friendly event.
[b]THAI LANGUAGE CENTRE**
The Thai Language Centre of Perth was established in October 2011 to maintain Thai language and culture. The TLC of Perth was established by language specialist teacher, Ms Saowarak Srisukkho. Saowarak was born and educated in Bangkok and Australia and arrived in Perth in 1987.
After becoming familiar with her new way of life, she was soon able to combine her culinary interests with teaching. In 1990, she became an Australian citizen and between 1992 and 1998, enjoyed considerable success with a restaurant in Northbridge.
Since then, the Centre has gone on and established these authentic Sunday lunch market type eating days and it has been very popular with locals as well as Thai nationals.
