A renowned professional teacher originally from Thailand, Ketsara Sambua welcomes students of all cultures and nationalities to learn this fascinating and beautiful form of artistic dance, giving lesson instructions and handouts in both Thai and English.

The Thai Dance Classes are available to students aged from 5 to 15. New students are welcome. Term three consists of a series of 10 lessons covering some fundamentals of Thai dance and a thematic look at the dance styles of various regions of Thailand.

The classes are held on Sunday mornings from 10.45 am to 11.45 am, commencing on Sunday July 28th at the Baldivis South Community Centre, 13 Lamorak Way, South Baldivis, just a short drive from Rockingham, Fremantle and Mandurah.

In just a few lessons, students learn to perform traditional Thai dances with an understanding of the fundamental steps, music and hand movements as well as the cultural finesses and regional styles underpinning the dances.

Ketsara is a very kind, supportive teacher who encourages her students to enjoy their lessons and to perform the dance well but also to experience the other advantages of learning to dance, such as comradeship and the ability to work together as a team. Ket hopes to bring harmony and joy through dance.

Some of the students from the Thai Dance Academy Perth also learn ballet and the poise and grace from both styles demonstrate how dance is universal to the human spirit and can be a uniting force in our wonderful multi-cultural society.

The community centre has a playground next to the dance studio where younger children can be entertained - and where some of the young dancers have some fun after the lesson.

Parents are encouraged to attend the final day of term for the performance of dances learned throughout the term, prize giving, certificate presentation and an end-of-term celebration with both Western and Thai food.

Parents are welcome to attend the class to settle young students into the class and are also encouraged to join other parents who sometimes go for a chin wag at the local coffee house.

The cost per lesson, which includes tuition, insurance, practice clothes and costumes is $10.00 with the full term fee payable on the first day of term.

For more information, to enrol in Term Three Classes or to express interest for future classes, other times or in different regions, please ring Ketsara Sambua or leave a text on 0438 780 63. Visit their Facebook page at Thai Dance Academy Perth.
