No need to travel to Thailand. Muay Thai is right here in Sydney at GSA, and it's popularity is increasing everyday. If you want to get fit and learn self defence, then this is a sure way to get results.

Not familiar with Muay Thai?

It is quite simply Thai Boxing - muay meaning boxing, which originated in Thailand hundreds of centuries ago to assist soldiers in warfare as a means of weaponry. Thai Boxing has since modernised to become one of the most addictive workouts I have ever had.

With graceful kicks, powerful punches and simple techniques that use your entire body, you will be hard pressed to find a better workout. You may even find that six-pack you'd forgotten about. Being referred to by experts as 'The Art of Eight Limbs,' you, like me, will gain a respect and appreciation for this form of Martial Arts.

You don't need to be fit to give Muay Thai a go. We all have to start somewhere don't we?

Luis Regis, the trainer, is a professional fighter from Brazil who has been training people of all levels for many years. He will motivate you, inspire you and guide you every step of the way. You just need to turn up and have fun.

Each class has a mix of male and female participants. I was a little scared at first, but this sport seems to be very popular with the girls these days - they have even started a female only class on Saturdays.

If you want to try a Muay Thai class (and I suggest you do), you can drop into GSA for a free introductory lesson.

That is what I did and now I am up to my fourth visit, so who knows I might see you there!
