Cocktails during Happy Hour? Why not
TGI Fridays is a popular American restaurant that has found its first home in South Australia in Westfield Marion. It's a great eatery that includes crazy props which are scattered all over their vibrant dwelling.
Not only is the food amazing, but their bar boasts a comprehensive list of alcoholic beverages that are sure to be a winner with anyone. They have a variety of drinks that can cater to a large audience with much ease.
I recently visited TGI Fridays prior to watching a movie at Event Cinemas, and decided to give their Happy Hour menu a shot.
There are some great suggestions for cocktails that one can have for just $10 - here are some of the few that were tried and given the big green tick by my tastebuds.
Always a fan of anything with strawberry, this refreshing drink comprises Bacardi rum, fresh strawberries and ice mixed and blended together. It is very delicious and strong, but be ready to have a brain freeze after a couple of sips. Nevertheless, it is worth it.
The JuneBug drink is the perfect summer drink - laced with Malibu, Midori, banana liqueur, sweet and sour mix and topped off with fresh pineapple juice. It tastes very similar to Malibu and pineapple juice, but has an edge that is bound to please your tastebuds.
Appletini The classic Appletini was one of the stronger drinks with less sweet and more pizazz in terms of the taste.
It may not have a lot of ingredients - Smirnoff Vodka, De Kuyper sour green apple pucker, sweet and sour mix, but it's enough to get you in your relaxed phase. So this is a must-have cocktail - you even get a cherry on completion of the drink.
In the traditional aspect of 'saving the best for last', I present to you the best, greatest drink of the night - the Ultimate Mudslide. Even before the cocktail mix is poured in, the glass is laced with a thick layer of chocolate sauce, which is a sure sign that you're in for a real treat.
Made up of Kahlua, Smirnoff Vodka, Baileys and topped with ice cream (or whipped cream, if you prefer), the Ultimate Mudslide is a drink not to be missed. The chocolate pieces on top are like icing on a cake - perfect.
You will feel like you're falling in love for the first time when you try it, so why not give it a go?
I know this isn't a cocktail, but it's a great side dish, especially when you can feel the cocktails kicking in. For only $7.50 (only valid during happy hour), indulge in some delicious, crispy chicken patties drizzled with melted Parmesan goodness and served with salsa.
